Welcome to The Learning Doctor™ website. This is a website to provoke you to think critically about spirituality. The site has been up since June, and I am experiencing the post web-site depression. Is anyone reading this stuff? Granted, I am not marketing as I should, but feedback is so important.
BACK FROM THE DEAD
You may wish to look at the blog and read about death and dying. I can write this as a firsthand experience. On August 13, 2007, I died, quite literally, and was revived through the professional efforts of the staff at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. I owe them my life. IS THIS YOU?
A feeling of frustration with anything church related? Spiritually depressed? Feeling that something is missing from your life, but you don't know what it is? No direction in life? Abandonment and failure to find happiness with people, or with God? Feel boxed in the box becoming smaller every day? Is there more to life than work? I can assure you, there is. What is it, then? It has to do with how you, as an individual, fit into the purpose of life.
THE PURPOSE OF LIFE AND THE PURPOSE OF YOUR LIFE
The purpose of life is different from your purpose in life. One contains the other. The purpose of life is the destiny all humans face as they confront their collective future. The purpose of YOUR life is how you find meaning in what you do, until you die. Our DESTINY, as humans, is to live with God...Forever in Heaven. There is a catch. You must know what that means and want to get there. I am writing these ideas in a book called SPIRITUAL APES: The Struggle to Be Spiritual, Vol. III. It is a passion of mine that ties into my purpose in life. To date, there are 32 book manuscripts that I have, 9 of which are printed in hard copy.
WHAT DO I NEED?
My recent cardiac arrest has jolted me awake, but not to change the purpose of my life (that is found in Philippians 2:5-12). My passion is still so very strong, but I am afraid that I will not be able to complete printing all of my books before I die. Even though I am retired (at 67), I went back to work at Florida Department of Children and Families in their Leadership Institute (www.dcf.state.fl.us) to help with expenses. Thank goodness I had insurance through Medicare Parts A and B. If you would like to help me bring some of these books to light, I could use the help. If you are just sitting around the house, bored at doing nothing, now that you are retired, join me.
I was thinking what would I offer you as an incentive to help someone you don't even know. Probably just the knowledge and the satisfaction that you are helping a fledgling author get started. Everyone needs help. There is always the chance these books will make it through the fickle labryrinth of the publishing world. There is a chance they will not. For me, there is only one path to travel-- forward. If you would like to help with editing (short term only), review, marketing, writing press releases, I could use whatever time and experience you can spare.

I will dedicate a book in memory of your loved one, or in honor of anyone you choose. Some of these books are solely dedicated already, but many of them are not. Members who sign up are members of The Learning Doctor™ Guild, a group dedicated to moving ahead with these ideas about spirituality.

If you look on the website and find a book you like, I will dedicate it to whomever you wish. You will received 50 signed copies of the book to distribute to your family, relatives, and friends. What a wonderful dedication this would make to reward a teacher you have had, or to memorialize a family member who was dedicated to spirituality and making the world a better place.
$10,000 Donation-- this a dedication on a page with no other dedications on it. Again, 100% of the monies go to producing and distributing the book. You can write any sentiment you want in the dedication. You will receive 100 signed copies of the book to distribute to family, friends, libraries, hospices, faith-based institutions, hospitals, and other public institutions. This would help me market this book to a more national audience.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Hope, happiness, heroes, and help. The problem has always been, where to find help. Most of the time it is right under our very nose, but it takes some of us years to discover it. Don't trust anyone who gives easy answers to complex human situations. The answer to these questions will cost you
everything you own. Notice I said THING. Human problems are solved with human solutions, and not always the easiest remedy will help.
Hope -- If you have hope, particularly spiritual hope, you can survive whatever comes your way because you have faith in what lies ahead.
Happiness -- The Preamble to the Declaration of Independence speaks of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is what the Iraqi's lack, even through they try to bring the tribes together in democracy. Happiness means you have the opportunity to fulfill your destiny. You can go your whole life searching for where you fit in this world, and why you are here. When you find the answer, like the merchant's search for fine pearls, you are happy beyond description.
Heroes -- Are heroes are those women and men who have been successful at time and have discovered their center. It could be your mother and father, a minister, a teacher, or a colleague.
Help -- There is help for you. It may be right in front of you. If you find yourself alone, the best cure is to realize that life is about relationships with people. Helping others is a way you find help. Allow others to help you.
